Small update: Changed the image to a .png for better quality preview here, that's all.

A submission idea for a logo for the Amiga Artists group. The group creator Raffaele Megabyte asked for a 3D logo along the lines of a rainbow, a paintbrush and the Amiga Boing Ball and I came up with this simple idea. I sketched it first in pen and ink (several very simple sketches) and once I had a concept I modeled it directly in Blender.

I already had the Amiga letters and the Boing Ball modeled in 3D so I only had to model the rainbow, the brush and the small letters and then compose and adjust all the models, add and adjust the materials and add and adjust the lighting. Despite that getting everything to look right is kinda tricky, anyway here it is.

Raffaele I did the logo of the ball separately first and then I modeled and rendered the 3D letters afterward. It was then color adjusted and joined in Photoshop CS4 (so the red tones would match). Nevertheless you can use the ball logo only and add your own letters if you want to. I have the renders both joined and separated (but still color adjusted).

Also it has smooth alpha edges (all of it) here I'm just showing it with a background color for display purposes. In addition to that I will include several other things in the .zip file for you guys Raffaele (Other 3D logos with renders too related to Amiga) that you may find useful someday.

Everything was rendered in very high resolutions (about 5000 pixels wide) this sample is just a scaled down version. That way you can reduce it to any size that you want cause as you know it will not loose quality like that.

It was created in Blender 3D and rendered with the old Blender renderer.
